A casement window is a side hinged window. Casement windows are a traditional window featured in older homes such as Federation style properties but they have easily adapted to modern styles of building and glazing.

Windows are hinged along either vertical edge, opening out from the side opposite to the side that is hinged, catching even the softest summer breeze.. The design of timber casement windows makes them weather tight when closed but they also offer great ventilation when open than other styles of windows as awning windows or double hung windows.

Casement windows can be produced to suit a variety of sizes. They are often configured in sets, making them suitable to very wide openings.
